Machinable Ceramic
Aremcolox™ 502-1100, a low-cost, machinable alumino-silicate ceramic, is now available for producing electrical and thermal insulators, furnace carriers, brazing fixtures, welding shields, soldering fixtures and burner nozzles used in applications to 2100°F. It demonstrates exceptional mechanical, electrical and thermal properties and can be used in oxidizing, reducing or vacuum atmospheres. It will not outgas in ultrahigh vacuum and does not react with most molten metals, salts and acids. Aremcolox 502-1100 is machined easily using conventional tooling. Stock includes plates from ¼ to 1-inch thick; rods from ¼ to 7-inch diameter; and bars from 1 inch x 1 inch to 4 inches x 4 inches.
