Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for September 2009 are at their best overall levels since September 2008. Three indices showed growth, with the fourth just under 50. The change in the number of request for quotes, change in the number of orders and change in backlog all increased from August. The change in the number of orders and the change in backlog were both at their highest levels in 12 months.

September 2009’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their August 2009 business levels to their July 2009 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
