Tata Steel Ltd. awarded an order to Tenova for equipment for its new steel mill at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. Tenova will supply equipment for the new thin-slab caster and rolling-mill complex at Tata’s 3-million-metric-tons/year brownfield expansion project. Tenova LOI Italimpianti and Tenova Hypertherm will provide two top-fired 240-meter roller-hearth furnaces, which will incorporate a swiveling ferry and water-cooled rollers with six recuperators and six stacks as well as Level-1 and Level-2 automation systems.
Tenova Pomini and its Indian partner, Arcum Engineering, will supply a fully automated roll shop and related interface with rolling mill. All of the equipment provided will be supplied on a turnkey basis.
