Ipsen, Inc. shipped a H5448 2-bar-quench TurboTreater horizontal vacuum furnace to an aerospace manufacturer located in the central United States. This enhanced TurboTreater has a work zone of 36 inches wide x 36 inches high x 48 inches deep with a gross load weight capability of 3,000 pounds at 2400ºF. The unit offers reduced power consumption and a compact floor print. It also provides for quick hot-zone removal in less than one hour for maintenance. The furnace is designed and engineered to meet AMS 2750D code requirements.

The vacuum furnace includes a robust graphite heating system element assembly with convection-assisted heating and an energy efficient 2-inch-thick graphite thermal insulation pack consisting of a carbon-composite hot face backed by four layers of graphite felt. The insulation is housed in a carbon-steel gas distribution plenum for uniform gas distribution into the workload. The Ipsen COMPUVAC control system offers many features including DIGITRIM, an automatic multi-zone tuning feature, virtually unlimited recipe storage, real-time and historical trending, and modem capability for remote diagnostics.
