Oceaneering Inspection Opens Heat-Treatment Facility
Oceaneering Inspection opened a new heat-treatment facility for stress relieving large-diameter pipe spools and pressure vessels at parent company Oceaneering International’s Houston, Texas, corporate campus. The 17-foot x 17-foot x 60-foot track-mounted furnace is retractable along a 120-foot hearth. The maximum temperature specification is 1450°F, and vessels weighing up to 100,000 pounds can be accommodated. The new furnace adds to the company’s existing 7-foot x 7-foot and 8-foot x 15-foot heat-treatment ovens. Oceaneering Inspection also offers on-site localized heat treatment and combustion capabilities. The company provides inspection and nondestructive testing services mainly to the power-generation, oil and gas, petrochemical and engineering industries.
