Turbomeca upgraded its new heat-treating facility in Bordes, France, by adding a Nitrex NX-811 nitriding system using Nitreg®-S technology. The system will be used for nitriding stainless steel auxiliary gears and drive-shaft assemblies. Nitrex Metal, a supplier of automated, turnkey heat-treating systems for nitriding and nitrocarburizing applications, completed the upgrade work in the first quarter of 2009. Turbomeca, a member of Safran Group, manufactures low- to medium-power gas turbines for helicopters.
