Inductoheat Inc. shipped four CrankPro® induction heating systems to several leading suppliers of automobile crankshafts in the fourth quarter of 2008. The CrankPro system is a non-rotational induction hardening and tempering machine that utilizes advanced SHarP-C™ technology, which eliminates the rotation of the crankshaft and movement of the inductor during heating and quenching cycles. This stationary heating method provides several practical and technical benefits, including reduced floor space, robust machined coil, low part distortion and minimal part growth.

Other advantages include short heat times of less than 3 seconds and production rates of up to 120 parts per hour. Inductoheat, based in Madison Heights, Mich., is one of 40 companies making up the Inductotherm Group.
