Last month, Bodycote announced that its West Coast operations entered a major initiative for integrating and expanding eight California locations. Bodycote is planning a major comprehensive modernization upgrade program with extensive equipment replacement to meet the growing needs of the titanium and aluminum aerospace and commercial markets. The Santa Fe Springs Romandel location has increased capacity by commissioning two tip-up furnaces for an additional 60 tons of metal processing per year.
The first step of the expansion plan was the recent consolidation of the San Diego and Tarzana facilities. Bodycote has also recently commissioned its new Nadcap-approved NDT-services unit for MPI, passivate and nital-etch services at its Huntington Park facility.
