Nanmac Corp. of Framingham, Mass., will become the first temperature-sensor manufacturer in the U.S. to power its manufacturing operations using solar power. Nanmac is also working with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, which offers rebates and assistance in becoming an energy producer using solar power. Savings received from powering its operations with solar will help Nanmac compete in the global market as well as reduce carbon emissions and fight inflation for customers.

To commemorate the occasion, state and local politicians will visit Nanmac’s headquarters this afternoon. Governor Deval Patrick, Senator Karen Spilka and Representative Pam Richardson will all speak at a ceremony, which concludes with a tour of Nanmac’s manufacturing facility.
