Blanchard Metals Processing Co. has ordered a Model H2323 6-bar TinyTurbo vacuum furnace from Ipsen, Inc. of Rockford, Ill. The unit will be used for heat treating aerospace components at Blanchard’s Salt Lake City, Utah, facility. Blanchard, which is Nadcap and ISO 9001 accredited, services major aerospace companies in the U.S. The TinyTurbo meets the requirements of AMS 2750D and has a work zone measuring 18 inches wide x 14 inches high x 24 inches deep with a gross load capacity of 400 pounds at 2400°F. The furnace requires minimal floor space for easy integration into existing operations.
The furnace is equipped with a highly efficient all-graphite insulated hot-zone assembly with graphite heating elements in a 360-degree configuration, convection-assisted heating for reduced heat-up times and vacuum-tempering capabilities, and gas-quenching capabilities to 6-bar. It also includes an Ipsen CompuVac control system with 17-inch color touch screen.
