Potting Compound
Ceramacast™ 584 is a magnesium oxide-based, silica-bonded, quick-setting ceramic compound suitable for potting high-temperature electrical components such a cartridge heaters and temperature sensors and casting small high-temperature components for applications to 2800°F (1535°C). The dielectric strength and volume resistivity are 100 volts/mil and 109 ohm-cm respectively. The compressive strength is 4,500 psi (31 MPa) and the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) is 6.5 (11.7) ppm/°F (°C).
