LOI Thermprocess has been awarded a contract by Seissenschmidt AG for the supply of a roller-hearth furnace. The furnace is for Seissenschmidt’s plant in Plettenberg, Germany, where an increase in production capacity to 1,000 kg/hour is planned. Low-alloy steel forgings are to be annealed to achieve defined properties. Production is scheduled to start in September 2008.
LOI has also received a contract for a rotary-hearth furnace from Interpipe Niko Tube in Ukraine. The direct-fired furnace is intended to expand seamless tube production capabilities. It will reheat up to 96 metric tons/hour of extruded steel blooms. Production is scheduled to start in February 2009.
