G-M Enterprises of Corona, Calif., announced the successful installation and start up of a G-M Model VVF 602-SFQ 6-bar vertical bottom-loading vacuum furnace. The furnace, which was delivered to a customer in the northwest United States, has an all-graphite hot zone with heavy-duty-graphite hearth assembly and five power trim areas for temperature uniformity certification to AMS 2750D requirements. Its work zone measures 96 inches in diameter x 72 inches high. The furnace, which will be used for the heat treatment of large alloyed steel castings, is rated for a 15,000-pound gross load at 2350°F.

The model is equipped with and external cooling-gas recirculating system with a 600-HP blower and 14 million BTUs/hour primary heat exchanger with 300,000 BTUs/hour post cooler. It is also supplied with a GMVAC1 WONDERWARE computer control system.
