Techint Italimpianti Deutschland GmbH, a company of Tenova LOI Italimpianti, has been awarded a contract by GTS Industries France for the engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of a pusher-type furnace. The furnace, which will be installed at a plate mill in Dunkerque, is designed for a capacity of 200 metric tons per hour to heat up slabs with different qualities up to 2282°F (1250°C). The complete equipment will be started up in June 2009.

The new furnace will be connected in series to the existing furnaces with the purpose to increase the mill load capacity. The order includes a turnkey plant of a bilateral-heated pusher-type furnace equipped with Tenova LOI Italimpianti FlexyTech®-LO-NOx high-speed and roof radiant burners firing natural gas.
