Ipsen has doubled its hot-zone manufacturing capability through expansion. The overall project began with the expansion of its hot-zone manufacturing at the Souderton, Pa., facility. Prior to expansion, Ipsen was manufacturing six to eight hot zones per month at its Rockford, Ill, location. Now at Souderton, Ipsen has the ability to achieve double the manufacturing capability. In addition, a section of the Ipsen Ceramics facility in Pecatonica, Ill, is currently being used for the assembling of large custom hot zones.
Ipsen has also completed a yearlong project in developing, designing and constructing a new stockroom and inventory management system. The new material management system will allow Ipsen to realize improvements beneficial for both internal and external customers through material flow, bar coding and staging areas.
