G-M Enterprises of Corona, Calif. has been granted a trademark by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for QuantumQuench™. G-M developed the multi-directional quench-gas flow system for its vacuum furnaces to meet critical cooling rates while controlling part distortion. QuantumQuench™ boasts four-quadrant selective quench capability.
This technology is a new concept of delivering cooling gas in selected quadrants without having any moving parts inside the vacuum vessel, which provides controlled cooling in selected areas and eliminates maintenance problems. The furnace has a circular hot zone and the cooling arrangement is divided into four quadrants. The gas can be introduced from any one quadrant or a combination of quadrants.
