Bloom Engineering (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Marathon Sensors (West Chester, Ohio) announced a formal partnership that will bring a new generation of combustion and environmental controls to the steel and forging industries. Bloom’s new EnviroHelper combustion burner system is an advanced approach to total burner operation. The system was unveiled at AISTech in Indianapolis May 7-10.

The oxygen level within a furnace control zone is measured using a Marathon sensor. This oxygen level is then used to trim the air-fuel ratio of each zone to optimize combustion, improving efficiency and reducing emissions. At the core of the system is a specially designed high-temperature Marathon Oxyfire Sensor and controller with the brains “designed and implemented” by Bloom for a total combustion and emission solution.
