Al Ezz Dikheila (EZDK) of Egypt has selected Danieli Centro Met to perform a significant revamp for its existing No. 1 electric arc furnace located in the Alexandria meltshop. EZDK is undertaking the project to enhance plant efficiency and to enlarge plant production capacity up to about 1.2 million metric tons per year. Danieli will install its FastArc injection technology on the 160-metric-ton EAF as well as a new advanced process optimization/automation system.

Danieli will also install a new Level 1 and Level 2 automation system that will allow the existing EAF to be operated in the automatic process setting. The new system will also interface with the existing ladle furnace and conticaster. In addition, EZDK has contracted Danieli for the upgrading of its long products rolling mill.
