Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. (Bridgeville, Pa.) announced a $3.5 million capital project at its Dunkirk, N.Y., facility. Universal Stainless is enhancing its capabilities at Dunkirk by adding high-temperature annealing equipment capable of oil, water and air quenching. Dunkirk’s high-temperature heat-treating operation, which is required for most of its product categories, is approaching full utilization. The project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter and has the potential to expand Dunkirk’s annual sales by as much as $20 million.

Universal Stainless manufactures and markets semi-finished and finished specialty steel products, including stainless steel, tool steel and certain other alloyed steels in a variety of grades, widths and gauges.
