EBNER to Modernize Galvanizing Line
Arcelor Eisenhuttenstadt (Germany) placed an order with EBNER for the modernization of their Selas galvanizing line that was built in 2000. The all-radiant-tube-heated furnace line produces mainly automotive-grade strip. The line capacity is to be increased to an annual throughput of 380,000 metric tons of galvanized and 120,000 metric tons of galvannealed material. Preliminary acceptance is scheduled for August 2008.
The furnace section of the line will be extended by a total of eight vertical strip presses. In addition, a patented rapid HICON® jet cooler system will be installed to cool the strip to the zinc bath temperature with a maximum temperature uniformity of +/- 5°C across the entire strip width.
