Core Furnace Systems (CORE) has been contracted to provide the latest generation of flameless low NOx burners for the existing walking hearth reheat furnace at Nucor Steel’s Plymouth, Utah, facility. The burners will reduce NOx levels to .07 lbs./MMBtu or lower. Installation will be completed in the fall of 2007.
CORE will also design and supply an EnCORE™ process control and automation system to replace the existing systems. The EnCORE™ system will include Level 1 and Level 2 control and will provide energy savings through an advanced thermal-modeling program.
