H2Gen Innovations, Inc. (Alexandria, Va.) announced the sale of seven HGM 2000 onsite hydrogen generation units to AREVA for the production of high-grade hydrogen. The hydrogen produced is to be used to process nuclear materials at the Department of Energy’s Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride Conversion Facilities. Three of the units will be installed at the facility under construction in Portsmouth, Ohio, and the other four will be installed in the facility under construction in Paducah, Ky.

AREVA is one of the partner companies of Uranium Deposition Services, which is under DOE contract to construct and operate the Conversion Facilities. H2Gen, which will also provide maintenance and support services for an expected period of one year, has already placed 11 HGM 2000 units in the field.
