Charter Steel has produced the first heats at its Danieli-supplied steelmaking facility in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio.

Charter Steelhas produced the first heats at its Danieli-supplied steelmaking facility in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio. At one month after startup, Charter Steel had produced billets in the lower-grade range that have been applied to orders. The facility will produce 350,000 tons per year. Production will be increased to about 700,000 tons per year in the future.

This meltshop is designed to support Charter's existing rod and bar-in-coil rolling mill at the Cuyahoga Heights facility. It includes a 75-ton EAF, ladle furnace and single-tank vacuum-degasser unit.
