Magneco/Metrel Inc. (Addison, Ill.; http://www.magneco-metrel.com) opened a new production facility in Tianjin, China for its nanoparticulate refractory technology serving the glass, aluminum, copper, ceramic, iron, and steel industries. The 40,000-square-foot (12,192-m) plant has a production capacity of 2,000 tons-per-month of high-performance refractory for use in industrial furnace construction and repair. The new plant will allow the company to meet increasing demand for its Sol-Gel refractory product line in South Korea, Taiwan, and China.
