Core Furnace Systems (Coraopolis, Pa.) has been contracted to design and supply a complete melt shop material handling system at the new SeverCorr mill in Lowndes County, Miss. The project's main features include an EAF/LMF flux charging system and an LMF/VD alloy feed system, as well as a metallics charging and feed system and a carbon-injection system for the EAF. Start-up is planned for late spring of 2007.

All the systems will be designed and optimized to efficiently feed the melt shop process equipment. Components of the material handling systems include conveyors, storage silos, bins, vibratory feeders, injection vessels and unloading stations.
