Connecticut-based Thermal-Basic Inc. designed, built and delivered a rotary hearth forge furnace to a forging company for the purpose of heating billets for the aircraft industry. The furnace is rated for a 2250°F operating temperature and has an 8-foot-diameter hearth. Heating is by means of three Eclipse high velocity burners and hearth rotation speed is variable and reversible.
Thermal's satellite company, High Degree Technical Services, installed the furnace, conducted startup and certified the temperature uniformity. This is the second rotary hearth furnace purchased by this customer along with two open slot dual chamber forge furnaces. For more information:
