Solar Manufacturing, Souderton, Pa., has received another order for a 24-foot, 50,000-pound-capacity car bottom vacuum furnace. This is the third furnace of its kind designed and built by Solar Manufacturing and will be shipped to an undisclosed plant site in the northwestern United States. A duplicate of the two furnaces in operation at the Solar Atmospheres plant in Hermitage, Pa., this new furnace will process Ti alloy structural parts for the aerospace industry.
