SECO/WARWICK (Meadville, Pa.; http://www.secowarwick.com) has partnered with Precision Manufacturing Institute (PMI), also in Meadville, by providing a Universal HPQ vacuum furnace for carburizing in a new manufacturing cell in PMI's new $4.5 million dollar training facility opening on May 18, 2006. The 32,000-square foot center will train workers and serve as a proving ground for new technologies and manufacturing techniques. The furnace is equipped with a low-pressure vacuum-carburizing cycle that has been developed for commercial heat treating, high wear parts, and tool and die.
