Solar Manufacturing (Souderton, Pa.) has received an order for a horizontal vacuum furnace from a customer in southeast Asia. The new furnace features a high-efficiency, graphite-insulated hot zone consisting of four layers of ½-inch-thick WDF-grade graphite felt with a FlexShield hot face. Operating temperature will be at a maximum of 2500ºF, with the work zone measuring 42 inches wide x 24 inches high x 48 inches deep and a load capacity of 4,000 pounds.
