The North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) in Wheeling, Ill., released Version 3.0 of the Design for Die Casting CD for product designers and OEMs, which is available at no charge. The CD provides detailed information on the major facets of die casting, including alloy composition and properties, casting tolerances and die design. Four case study tutorials, along with an audio presentation and several animations, help illustrate various design techniques and options. New features include information on computer modeling capabilities; instruction on using aluminum prediction software; and a section on rapid tooling technologies.
