Metaplas Ionon, Gladbach, Germany, supplied to a customer in Korea what is claimed to be the largest furnace system for providing corrosion resistance to components using its IONIT OX (r) process. The system is a modular unit consisting of a pit and bell furnace having an effective height of 3 m. The units can be operated individually or assembled together with an 4-m long extension segment, which provides an effective height of 10 m. Applications include automotive parts and hydraulic cylinders.
