Worthington Steel, Columbus, Ohio, purchased CAPS(tm) V5 Optimization Software from Entec Systems International, a RAD-CON Group Company in Cleveland, Ohio, for the Ebner annealing bases at its Decatur, Ala. anneal shop. The system includes Entec's stacking, heating and cooling models and integrates into the Worthington scheduling system for better utilization of the pre-anneal storage area. CAPS is optimization software designed with tools necessary for efficient management of an anneal shop from consumption production to management reports. The heart of the system is an on-line physical model of the process.
