The U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, Pa., ordered two atmosphere box furnaces from Lindberg, an SPX Company in Watertown, Wis. Each furnace included an atmosphere retort and a workspace of 15 in. x 24 in. x 10 in. for 1800 F operation. Lindberg also shipped a Pacemaker furnace to U.S. Army Depot in Anniston, Ala. The unit has a 24 in. x 36 in. x 24 in. workspace and is heated by Lindberg's SER gas-fired radiant tubes. Lindberg also, in two separate orders from unnamed companies, completed the installation of a gas-fired car-bottom furnace for processing automotive parts and is currently building two top-loading pit-type vacuum furnaces to be shipped and installed in April.
