Magellan Aerospace, Toronto, Canada, has been awarded manufacturing work for Volvo Aero Corp., Trollhatten, Sweden. This contract is valued at $(Cdn) 8 million with deliveries commencing in the second half of 2003. The contract is for the manufacture of advanced aeroengine components and kits to support repair and overhaul activities by Volvo Aero on the RM12 military engine. The RM12 powers the SAAB JAS39 Gripen multirole air defense, attack, and reconnaissance aircraft. The work will be carried out in Magellan's facilities in Mississauga, Ontario, and includes machining, welding, assembly and final hardware fitting.
