Hot Isostatic Press Ordered

Howmet International, Inc., Greenwich, CT, has placed an order with ABB Autoclave Systems, Inc., for a QuantasR Hot Isostatic Press (HIP). The unit ordered is 42" in diameter, 65" in length, and is designed to operate at a gas pressure of 30,000 psi and a temperature of 2300¯F (1260¯C). The press, which will be installed in Whitehall, MI, is the ninth press in the company's hot isostatic press operation and will enable a 50% plant-wide throughput increase.
