Tinplate Co. of India Ltd., a company of the TATA Group, awarded LOI Thermprocess GmbH, Essen, Germany, a contract for the supply of an HPH bell-type annealing plant for its Golmuri Works in Jamshedpur, India. The existing plant is to be extended by two HPH annealing bases, two heating hoods and a one cooling hood. The plant, which will be equipped with a bypass cooling system, is to be used for annealing thin-gauge steel sheet. The plant will be designed to treat coils with a maximum outside diameter of 1850 mm, a maximum stack height of 4100 mm and a maximum charge weight of 72 t. Diesel oil will be used for heating the furnaces. The control system will feature a WinCC operation workstation in combination with S7 PLCs.
