Paul Wurth receives $3.8 Million Steelmaking Equipment Order
Paul Wurth, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pa., the U.S. subsidiary of Paul Wurth S.A. of Luxembourg, received a $3.8 million order from Ispat Inland, East Chicago, Ill., to upgrade its blast furnace. The order for bell-less Top equipment includes a new rotating chute and new material-flow gates and seal valves. The longer rotating chute will be of a more robust design to improve burden distribution and increase service life. Newly designed bearings and seal valve disc mounting arrangements will improve the service life of those components. Ispat Inland, formerly Inland Steel Co., is an integrated steel producer in the U.S.
