BCS Industries, LLC, Memphis, Tenn., formerly known as Bluff City Steel, installed APEx (atmosphere process equilibrium) carbon control system developed by RAD-CON Inc., Cleveland, Ohio. The system provides decarburization and soot prevention during heat treatment of ferrous wire. An APEx trial system was first supplied to BCS by RAD-CON, Inc (Cleveland, OH) for one box furnace. Success of the trial system led to installation of APEx on all the annealing equipment (box and tilt-up furnaces) in the Memphis facility. BSC Industries, with operations in Tennessee and Ohio, processes wire, rod and bar for the fastener industry
