Molybdenum slide-through element support is now added as an optional hot zone feature in the company's vacuum furnaces. The new design allows the molybdenum elements to expand and contract freely within the hot zone. It minimizes shrinking, sagging and distortion, which helps extend the life of the element. Due to the increased expansion of molybdenum versus other elements, supports are placed along the element to hold it in position relative to the hot face. With this design, the molybdenum element is allowed to expand back and forth along its length.
