Industrial Heating Economic Indicators for August showed substantial increases across the board for all four indicators. All four indices registered values above 50, indicating an increase in business levels. August 2003 index numbers reflect the changes experienced in responding companies' business activity from July 2003 to August 2003. Change in number of Request for Proposals from July to August is 50.5, change in Number of Orders from July to August is 51.9, change in Backlog from July to August is 53.0 and Expected Change in the Health of the Thermal Processing Industry through September is 52.8. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
