Hyundai of Korea placed a contract with LOI Thermprocess GmbH for a heat-treatment plant for the low-distortion case hardening of sliding sleeves. The plant is to have a rotary hearth furnace with separate heating-up, carburizing and diffusion zones, a three-station fixed-mandrel hardening machine, a three-station centrifugal cleaning unit, a twin-rack tempering furnace and all the manipulation equipment needed for fully automated operation. The plant also will have a PC visualization system based on WIN CC. The net throughput of the plant will be 700 kg/h at an average case depth of 1.1 mm.
