The dual spindle vertical scanner hardens and tempers parts in one compact processing cell. More than 200 parts can be processed per hour during heat treatment of axle shafts, tripods and other joint components, with a change-over time of two to five minutes. The process and the appropriate parameters are programmed into an onboard computer and recalled by part number. Once programmed, the data loads within two minutes, including quench temperature and flow levels, power and kilowatt second set points, scan speed, rotation speed, part length adjustment data, and part temperature limits.
