Solar Atmospheres Inc., Souderton, PA, will open a new operations facility in the Spring of 2001. Currently located in Souderton, 40 miles north of Philadelphia, Solar will add a new facility in Hermitage, PA, close to the Ohio border. The plant will be 60 miles from Pittsburgh and Cleveland. The plant will house Solar's new 24 foot long vacuum furnace with hearth capacity of 50,000 lbs. The Hermitage facility is 21,000 square feet and has a 50 ton crane for material handling. In addition to the 24' foot furnace the new plant will have two 10 bar furnaces, air and vacuum tempering equipment. The plant is located on five acres for future expansion.
