The eddyscanRH rotating eddy current scanner scans 100% of the surface area on cylindrical components such as steering racks, roller bearings, piston pins and strut rods. Longitudinal seams, transverse cracks and pores are detected. Rotating at up to 12,000 rpm, the scanner permits throughput speeds up to 800 mm per second without loss of resolution. Testing is non-contacting so ground and super finished surfaces are not scratched or damaged by the scanning process. Defects of only 0.050 mm to 0.100 mm depth are detectable by the scanner.
