Vacuum Furnace Systems (VFS) Corp., Souderton, PA, has sold five new horizontal internal quench (HIQ) 6 bar vacuum furnaces to Howmet Corporation, headquartered in Greenwich, CT. The furnaces were shipped to two separate casting facilities in Whitehall, MI, and Dover, NJ. VFS shipped four new vacuum furnaces to Howmet Corporation¿s Whitehall Casting to process single crystal turbine blades for commercial and military jet engines. The furnace order is comprised of two separate HIQ models: the HIQ-5748-6 and the HIQ-3836-6. A fifth furnace, also a HIQ-5748-6, was shipped to the Dover, NJ facility.
