SECO/WARWICK Ltd. in the United Kingdom has supplied and commissioned a processing line based on the A/SP-1000 roller hearth furnace for spheroidizing bearing rings. By including a vacuum purged vestibule in the first stage of the line, the gas consumption necessary to adequately purge the components of air has been reduced. A multi-zone furnace with low-mass thermal insulation and forced convection via high velocity fans ensures increased temperature uniformity and heat up rates throughout the load. Independent metallographic ex-amination and hardness measurement shows increased results batch after batch.
