Fifth Annual Commercial Heat Treater of the Year Award Presented
Industrial Heating Magazine, in cooperation with the Metal Treating Institute (MTI), has awarded the fifth annual Master Craftsman Award to Jasco Heat Treating, Fairport, NY. The award is based on contributions made by each applicant company in the areas of quality programs, pollution/hazardous waste control, and community involvement. Bryan Jageman, sales and marketing director for Jasco Heat Treating, accepted the award during Furnaces North America held in Orlando, Florida, March 30-31, 2000.
The recipient is awarded a plaque and $1500 to be used as an education scholarship in material sciences or heat treating. Since the award's establishment in 1995, Industrial Heating has invested a total of $7,500 in training and education through MTI member companies and the Master Craftsman Award.
Judges for the event were: Tom Benoit, Flame Treating & Engineering Company; Bruce Boardman, Deere & Company; Jim Beingessner, B&W Heat Treating; David C. Van Aken, University of Missouri-Rolla and Engineering Concepts columnist for Industrial Heating; and Nick Zingale, Affinity Environmental Group Inc. and Environmental Analysis columnist for Industrial Heating.
