Superior Graphite Co., Chicago, IL, has dedicated its new research and development center in honor of company Chairman and CEO Peter R. Carney. The center has a lab that contains equipment including a Carl Fisher K.F. analyzer, which measures moisture in graphite in parts per million; a B.E.T. surface area analyzer, a laser particle size analyzer; and an inert atmosphere glove box used for lithium-ion battery research. The center houses a quality assurance department and sophisticated equipment, including an emission spectrometer for measuring trace metals in graphite.
