Kaiser Aluminum seeks to sell Jamaica operations
(Reuters) - Kaiser Aluminum is seeking a buyer for its operations in Jamaica as part of bankruptcy restructuring. Gene Miller, Kaiser Aluminum Co.'s vice president for the U.S. and Jamaica, said six unnamed companies had expressed interest, and Kaiser hopes for a deal by early next year. Houston-based Kaiser filed for protection from creditors in February 2002, and placed Jamaica and eight other plants worldwide under the bankruptcy protection plan this year.
