Dorssers Inc. expanded its heat treat operation with the installation of two elevator hearth vacuum furnaces from Seco/Warwick Corp., Meadville, Pa., with convection heating, rotating hearth, and 2-bar gas cooling system for hardening pellet mill dies in its Blenheim, Ontario, Canada manufacturing facility. The furnaces are equipped with curved graphite heating elements, and heat by Seco/Warwick's convection system. They will incorporate a rotating hearth that will activate during the 2-bar cooling cycle to improve cooling uniformity. The furnace control system utilizes an industrial computer/PLC control system for accurate control of heating, cooling and remote monitoring of furnace performance.
